On the evening of 26^th February 2021, invited by the Executive Committee of the 3^rd Asia Youth Games in Shantou, 21 overseas faculty and their family members participated in another round of evening tour to the Small Park to celebrate the Lantern Festival in 2021.

When the overseas faculty and family members arrived at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Pavilion, one of the landmarks in the Small Park area, they were so amazed by the exquisite traditional decorations around the pavilion blazing with lantern lights in numerous shapes that all of them rushed to take pictures of the site.

The celebration gala for the Lantern Festival then kicked off at 8 p.m. with the boisterous lion dancing as the warm and hearty greetings followed by the Chao opera and lantern lighting ceremony. Notably all the audience burst into cheers when the international children of the overseas faculty from Shantou University and Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology jumped onto the stage to surprise everyone with a spectacular show of Chinese Kung Fu (Martial Arts).

As it is said that the Chinese New Year season usually ends with a grand finale of the Lantern Festival celebration, the spirit of love and care behind every successful event, just like this one, yet brings no end of pleasure to the overseas faculty and students at Shantou University, which is the home to all of them.
