Under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and with the support of various relevant functional departments in Shantou, the national intangible cultural heritage training program “Chinese Intangible Cultural Inheritors Training Plan: the Second International Teochew Opera Culture Seminar” organized by Shantou University and Guangdong Teochew Theatre held the closing ceremony and report performance at the Huiru Theater of Guangdong Teochew Theatre on the morning of June 17.
Prof. Fang Zhanrong, the national inheritor of Teochew opera and visiting professor of Chaoshan Culture Research Center of Shantou University, Prof. Huang Zanfa, former secretary of the Party Committee of Shantou University, professor of the Cheung Kong School of Arts and Design, consultant of Chaoshan Culture Research Center, and students from Guangdong and Fujian provinces, performers of Guangdong Chao Theatre, Junior College students majored in Teochew Performance participated in this activity. The ceremony and performance were online-and-onsite combined, also attracted many Teochew enthusiasts joined via life streaming.
Prof. Chen Jingxi presented a letter of appreciation to the faculty representatives, President Hao Zhifeng and Secretary Ye Xian jointly issued course-completion certificates to the seminar students.
After the presentation ceremony, the offline and online international report performance jointly directed by national first-level performer Xie Jishun and national first-level director Zheng Songming officially began. The theme of this performance is "Performance Heritage for Love" as the theme. Students from various countries and regions report their learning achievements through online and offline forms.
