The Technion-Israel Institute of Technology was established in 1924. The college has 19 departments, covering the fields of science, engineering, architecture, education, medicine, management, humanities and social sciences. 

The Technion cooperated with Shantou University to hold Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in 2016, and signed a cooperation agreement with the Medical College in 2019.
