Kyungpook National University ranked No. 99 in the world, No. 3 in Korea and No. 1 national university in the World University Impact Rankings 2020 announced by Times Higher Education (THE), a British global university evaluation agency. THE World University Impact Assessment was first calculated last year and uses social and global responsibilities of higher education institutions as its main yardstick, unlike previous evaluations that focus on education and research results. Evaluation criteria include the degree of contribution to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the U.N. General Assembly in 2015. 

The university signed partnership cooperation agreement with STU in 2020.
